Located to the east of the city centre and a short walk from St Albans City station, Fleetville is a popular, community-focused area of St Albans, with the diverse and vibrant Hatfield Road running through the heart of the area.

Cafes, shops, bars and restaurants

Hatfield Road hosts a wide range of independent retailers, including Asian supermarkets, a local bakery, beauty salons and hairdressers, and cafes and eateries serving up everything from authentic Italian pizzas at Nonno’s Pizza to Turkish mezze. Make sure you check out independent cheesemonger Fleetville Larder, which also serves great coffee, or stock up on deli essentials at Santino’s.

Fleetville Infants and Juniors Schools were both rated Outstanding in their most recent OFSTED assessments. Secondary schools in the surrounding area include Verulam Boys and Beaumont Schools.

Parks and green spaces

Fleetville Playground lies alongside Hatfield Road, with play areas for all ages and a café to grab a coffee while the kids play. Fleetville is also close to Clarence Park, with its Victorian bandstand, cricket pitch and pavilion, bowls club, playground, sports pitches and tennis courts, is just a five-minute stroll away.
