Our Community

From artisan coffee shops to independent fashion boutiques, bars and restaurants, St Albans has it all!

As our work is all about helping families find their forever home in St Albans, as well as raising our own children in the city, supporting our local community is hugely important to us.

We regularly sponsor local schools’ events and donate to local charities throughout the year. Take a look at our News for our latest updates.

Verulamium Park

Enjoy stunning views of the Cathedral while tucking into a picnic on the rolling parkland. The park boasts lakes, playgrounds, a splash park and a museum celebrating the City’s Roman heritage. It also plays host to a wide range of events, including the St Albans Half Marathon, St Albans Film Festival and Pub in the Park.

George Street and Verulam Road

This area of the city centre is packed with independent bars, restaurants and eateries. Some of our favourites include The Deli on Verulam, selling local and Fairtrade artisan produce, Suckerpunch, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar, and The Pudding Stop, which serves up award-winning home-made puds.

St Albans Museum + Gallery

Over 2,000 years of priceless local heritage along with contemporary artworks are on display in the beautifully restored Town Hall. Venture into the basement to thrill the kids with a visit to the historic jail cells!

High Street

While leading high street brands can also be found in the city centre, this is the place for award-winning independent fashion retailers. Browse the fashion labels stocked in The Dressing Room and Chloe James Lifestyle for something you won’t find on the average high street.

Market Place and St Peter’s Street

The twice-weekly Charter Market with its array of fresh produce and wide range of traders has been held in the heart of the city for hundreds of years. It’s now complimented by a Farmers’ Market and summer evening street food markets that feature cuisine from all over the world.

The Odyssey Cinema

This original art deco picture house has been lovingly restored and re-opened as a single-screen cinema. Enjoy a glass of wine, a cold beer or a cheese platter at your table while you watch one of the latest films.
